Investory is a learning game for children and parents to easily understand finances. Gone are the boring speeches and talks about money, credit and interest. With an engaging game, poised with riddles and challenges, the children are able to discover financial concepts and dynamics. Because the learning is done on top of familiar concepts, the users feel safe and at the same time curious.
We started on this journey by realizing that we’ll soon have to teach our kids about personal finance, and as most of our generation, we only have “savings” and “homeownership” as an example from our parents. With this in mind, we’ve built an online experience that can rival the game children play on their parent’s phones every day, but with a valuable outcome of learning and practising financial concepts. This also has a positive impact on the current behaviours of parents, who use the phones as distractions for kids, such that they have a moment to breathe. We transition the player through various levels of difficulty, and by having also a companion app for the parents, we make sure they are up to speed with what the children learn. This also gives them the possibility to get involved and assign allowances, targets and quests. Our aim is to teach children between the ages of 6 and 10, and further down the road, create new solutions that will help them throughout their teen-hood.
