2014

RICAP launch

RICAP (Romanian Innovation Commercialization Assistance Program) was founded in Bucharest by a group of consulting professionals and startup ecosystem supporters located in Romania and US (GEA Strategy & Consulting, today CIVITTA Romania, Larta Institute (US), CRIDL). The Romanian-American Foundation shared the common vision with the group and assumed the risk of funding the startup with the aim of investing to develop the Romanian ecosystem. RICAP was then oriented mostly to bring on the market the research & innovation driven technologies and support the high potential of local research outcomes through building their commercialization strategy for the international market.

2015

SPRINTPOINT launch

SprintPoint was initiated in Cluj Napoca, around ClujHUB community by Startup Transilvania – Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center. It appeared as a solution to the need of market access and funding for top entrepreneurs involved in tech startups. Also it was a regional solution to respond to the brain-drain towards international accelerators and investors. As of today, SprintPoint accelerator ran 2 cohorts of startups.

2016

Together is better

RICAP and SPRINTPOINT engaged in a strategic partnership aiming a deeper regional reach in the Transylvanian innovation ecosystem. Integrating our program acceleration teams we committed to bring more value and a more efficient, wider support to the Romanian innovative entrepreneurs. Overall results: The 2 programs accelerated a total of 81 businesses from multiple industries, such as: agro-tech, ICT, health, materials, energy, renewable energy, ICT, virtual and augmented reality, 3D printing, education, life style (fashion) etc.

2017

Partnership action

RICAP and SPRINTPOINT started to organized Investors’Dinner, alumni community events, targeting additional benefits for programs alumni, now more mature companies who have the chance to get closed to potential investors and present their progress and, eventually, secure deals. They facilitate meetings with carefully selected group of active angels who are eager to get to know novelties of best startups now in the spotlight and evaluate the chances to sponsor or join the teams as investors.

2018

Techcelerator launch

RICAP and SprintPoint launch Techcelerator, the most powerful startups accelerator in Romania assumed the mission to discover the next unicorn in the region by pumping the startup ecosystem with cash investment, the newest market knowledge and tools, and offer connections with angels and investors active locally and globally.
